Jaipur popularly known as the Pink city of India has another sobriquet known as Paris of India. Jaipur is probably the first planned city of India with a meld of Indian culture and modern experiences. Wandering through the streets and historical buildings the city shows how it is accoutered in shades of pink. With its transcending beauty poets have engraved its glory in their travelogues. Going back in history, Maharaja Sawai Ram Singh II, who was the then ruler of the Jaipur, painted the entire city with pink terracotta in the spirit of hospitality of the royal guest prince Albert. From forts, monuments, food, shopping, and many more Jaipur's charms are bound to bewitch you. The city is an afflatus for tourists, artisans, architecture enthusiasts, and art and photography connoisseurs alike. The architecture here is based on Indian Vastu concepts. Bursting with embellishing palaces and imposing forts, Jaipur is considered to be the commercial and cultural hub of northern India. Hawa Mahal, Amber Fort, City Palace, Birla Temple, Jaigarh Fort are amongst the major tourist attractions. HAWA MAHAL- Resembling a beehive honeycomb, with 953 tiny jharokhas carved in it is a five-story monument having a sumptuous exterior. The architectural design is such that cool air passes through the entire structure creating Venturi Effect. AMBER FORT- Located on a hill, Amber Fort acts as a strong defense around the city. With its enchanting beauty, the architecture is a blend of the Rajput and Mughal emperor. While venturing into this fort rich and vibrant culture of India can be experienced by you. CITY PALACE- Lying in the heart of the city, the palace has a unique pattern showcasing royal attires, Kashmiri pashminas, and sanganeri block prints. Visiting this place is a treat to your eyes with the opulent architectural style and royal customs. Food and local bazaars are other specialties of Jaipur which includes gems traditional Rajasthani costumes, Dye clothing, and leheriya dupattas. Shopping in Jaipur at low prices is an exciting ordeal.
